Tuition 

This includes all texts and resource materials, sports shirts and uniforms, classroom without walls expenses, library and database membership, high speed/wireless internet access, sports and fitness facility access.  The high school fees also provide each student a new laptop computer.  The laptop becomes the student’s property after a full two year’s enrollment. (Students attending less than one year may purchase their laptop for an additional 8000 RMB.)  Note: additional fees may apply for interscholastic travel.

Capital Levy

A non-transferable, non-refundable capital levy is assessed (regardless of entry date) on all new students from the Priority Two and Three categories for K-12. Students enrolled in the ECLC program are exempt from the capital levy fee until the year they enter kindergarten. This fund supports future facility enhancements and long term planning and other capital expenses.  If a family in either of these categories has more than one student entering the school, either during one school year or over a number of years, the capital levy per child is:

*Capital Levy payment plan.  The capital levy can either be paid in one, two or three annual installments with a service fee. 

Note: A Priority Two or Three student who had previously attended SIS and paid the capital levy fee is not assessed the levy when reenrolling in the school.

Payment/Billing

Billing for school tuition and capital levy will be sent out within one week after the children have begun school.  Tuition is payable in RMB.  The full school year’s fees are due within four weeks of invoice receipt.  Late penalties apply.  Payment in US Dollars or another currency must be arranged prior to payment with SIS Accounting Office.

The enrollment of a Priority Two or Three student is a private contract between the parent and the school, regardless of any arrangement the parent may have with an employer concerning the payment of school fees.  The parent always remains responsible for the payment of all school fees.

Important: it is essential to fax SIS a copy of the bank transfer slip on the day payment is made. It is critical that the names of all students must accompany the wire transfer payment instructions. Shenzhenmust appear with school name.

Application Fee
A non-refundable application processing fee must be paid to complete the application process. The fee will be applied to tuition upon enrollment or may be applied to reapplication at a later date if the student is not accepted. No additional application fee will be charged for students who re-apply for admission within three years. 

Annual Re-registration Deposit
Each March parents will be asked to submit a deposit (RMB8000) toward the next school year’s tuition. This is an indication of intent to return to SIS the next school year and holds the student’s seat in the class.  The deposit is applied to tuition.   

Other Fees

ESOL Testing Fee
A RMB 1500 non-refundable placement testing fee (payable only in cash) is assessed to all Priority Two and Three applicants whose native/academic language is not English and who require an English language assessment test.  The retesting fee is RMB 800.

Transportation Fee
The transportation fees vary based on distance from SIS.  Please see separate fee structure.

Late Entry Policy
For new students enrolling after November 15th of the school year until January 15th, the tuition will be 70% of the full year tuition.  For new students enrolling after January 15th until April 15th, the tuition will be 50% of the full year tuition.  For new students enrolling after April 15th of the school year, the tuition will be 30% of the full year tuition.  

Withdrawal Policy
If a student withdraws from the school at any time prior to January 31st, 40% of the full tuition paid will be refunded.  If a student withdraws from the school February 1st-April 15th, 20% will be refunded.  No other refunds for early withdrawals can be considered.

Overdue Payments
In the case of financial delinquency, all school records will be withheld.  Any student whose tuition is outstanding more than 30 days may be asked leave school until payment is made. Late penalties apply.  Questions about bills and payments should be directed to the accounting office.

Tuition Adjustment
Note: In the event of a financial crisis or a deficit arises not foreseen when fees were set, the school sponsor has the right to increase or revise fees at any time during the school year.

Financial Aid
Financial aid may be available to families who have been enrolled for at least one year. Financial assistance may be available to a limited number of families of newly enrolled students who are not eligible to receive tuition payment or reimbursement from a sponsoring company. Aid application forms are available through the Director’s office.

Scholarship
SIS provides Special Recognition for Leadership and Academic Excellence to a limited number of high school applicants. Recipients whose fees are not company sponsored will also qualify for up to US$5000 reduction in tuition spread equally over the following two years.
